Record meetings

Start, follow, and finish a meeting without adding a bot to the call.

Start recording

Choose the path that matches the meeting:

  • Calendar event with a Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, or Cal.com link: open the event note and click Join & record. Mico opens the meeting link and starts listening at the same time.
  • Event without a meeting link, or a call you already joined: open the event note and click Record. If the button says Join & record, use ••• → Start listening to record without opening the link again.
  • Unscheduled conversation: create a New Note, then click Record.

Mico records your microphone and system audio. It does not join the meeting as a participant.

Make sure you have permission to record. Consent rules depend on where you and the other participants are located.

During the meeting

Use Memos for your own notes. You can keep them rough: the generated summary uses the conversation and your memo as context.

Open Transcript to follow the conversation. Mico transcribes the audio in short segments, so text appears a few seconds behind the conversation.

On macOS, if you enabled Show floating bar in Settings → Meetings, you can control recording without keeping the full Mico window open.

Finish the meeting

Click Stop in the top-right corner, or choose ••• → Stop listening. Mico saves the recording according to your retention setting, finishes the transcript, and creates a summary.

If the conversation continues, click Resume in the same top-right control.

Delete recording keeps the note and transcript but has no Undo. When you delete the whole note, you can undo while the message is visible. Cloud copies and shared audio have their own removal process; see Data, privacy, and retention.

Use an existing recording

Create or open an empty note, click the ••• menu, then choose Upload audio or Upload transcript.

See Import audio or a transcript for supported formats and the complete flow.
