Transcription and AI

How Mico turns audio into text and text into useful notes.

Mico runs both AI steps in its own cloud service:

  • Transcription turns meeting audio into a transcript.
  • Summaries and chat turn the transcript and your memo into a structured note and answers.

There is no provider, model, or API key to choose. Sign in and use an active plan or trial, and Mico handles the rest.

How transcription works

While you record, Mico uploads the audio in short segments and transcribes each one in the cloud. The first lines take about half a minute; from there the text appears on its own as you talk, and the transcript is completed after you stop listening.

If the connection drops, recording continues. Mico keeps the pending audio on your computer and uploads it when the connection returns. See Use Mico offline.

What you can adjust

  • Meeting language and Additional meeting languages tell transcription what to expect. See Languages.
  • Settings → Dictionary teaches transcription names, acronyms, and product terms.
  • Summary length, templates, and the Auto prompt shape the summary. See Customize meeting summaries.

What leaves your computer

Recording sends meeting audio to Mico's cloud service for transcription. Creating a summary or answering in chat sends the text and instructions needed for that request. Your settings stay on your computer; your notes and transcripts also sync to your Mico account.
